Foundation recommendations for that "dewy" look

I'm after recommendations for a foundation that will give me a "dewy" look, with light to medium coverage.
I'm 41, have dry skin and fine lines so I am thinking an anti aging foundation but I really, really want a dewy finish, not matte.
I recently bought bourjois, which is nice and i wouldn't call it matte, but I feel it's not quite dewy enough.
Would appreciate some recommendations so when I hit the make up counters, I know where to start!
Don't really want to spend more than around $40, unless it really does take 20 years off my age :-P

Have you tried using a face spray? I have used a vitamin E face spray before that gives a more dewy look, but you need to keep it in your bag and refresh during the day.

You can just use a water mist as well, but this was back in the day when I used to flog make-up.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm using a matte foundation and would like to try something different too

I use an illuminator over my foundation to give me a 'dewy' look.
Works quite well for me.
Also- a cream blush may work?

MAC Face and Body would be perfect. I use it on most clients with dry skin. It has a lovely dewy-natural finish and lasts well.

Which Bourjois have you been using? 10-hour sleep effect is very illuminating (my choice after a long night with DD!), might be worth checking out if you like this brand.

I swear by Estee Lauder, and if you can stretch to it, add "Idealist" to your purchase. Its exxy, but it lasts for ages and it leaves my skin feeling like silk. Use that under your foundation and it gives a beautiful smooth base and really adds to the dewy factor. I hate the thick, coated look some foundations give, but I find my EL foundation leaves my skin looking really natural but still giving good coverage, and definitely with a dewy look.

I just happened to be in David Jones yesterday and went to the MAC counter. She applied the face and body foundation.....as well as an illuminator, a primer and concealer (total cost to purchase $180). I then went to lunch with hubby who told me I looked like I had jaundice!!!.... He is a fan of make up free. I quite liked the foundation but don't want to have to apply the rest, because I don't think I would give the application the time it requires.
It got me thinking that maybe my Bourjois healthy mix serum would look more dewy if I did more prep work....
Next time I am at the shops I will give the Estée Lauder counter a visit, and I am also going to try the 10 hour effect you suggested Buffy. If I am not happy with the finishes then I will have to consider incorporating an illuminator or face spray.
I also usually just "slap on" my foundation with my fingers but the finish with a brush is so much better for me I think so I will have to get a foundation brush..... As with most things in life, you get out of it what you put into it and there are no instant fixes.... :sigh: :-)

The jaundice comment could mean the colour is too yellow or pale for your skin tone although they are normally good at colour matching. Or maybe you applied too much? Try using less and applying over skin you have just moisturised (ie still a bit dewy from the moisturiser.)

I've also been told to mix a drop it two of face oil into your foundation to make it dewier.
