What does this sound like?

Red area on skin with little white bumps. Spreading about body as I type...

My first thought is allergy. Mainly because it's spreading so fast.

Draw around it.
Take a temperature.
Also thinking allergy.

WHat happens when you press on it? Does it return to red straight away?
Otherwise well?

This was a reaction to a viral infection my son had. Its common for the body to react like this when there is a viral infection brewing.

Sounds like hives to me

or a bite from a bug that has gone cray cray?

TBH though it sounds like it is hive-like...allergy to something?

Well I'm thinking virus-related as she had cough and fever, too. The bumps disappeared and just red patches now - don't think she's been exposed to anything different that she might react to.
Doctor gave DH antibiotics as her temperature was "too high to be a virus". WTF? I didn't give it to her. Anyway, temp is normal this morning.

Look up parvo virus. We just had it badly in our house :(
