Some questions about Austudy and PPP

Ok so I'm on the PPP (parenting payment - thats what it is isn't it? lol) and DH is on Austudy as he is a student.

He's just scored a casual job in a hospital and we are wondering what this means for our payments and what we have to do. I know years ago you used to declare your earnings every fortnight - but I can't remember if I was on the dole or austudy when I was doing that :redface:

So we are wondering what information he has to give, and how often - and then what information I have to change of mine. I'm thinking that all I have to do is make sure my family estimate is inclusive of his new income? It won't be very much, he'll only be working one or two days a week maximum, and I already overestimate our income that we get anyway.

Can someone let this old girl know what the new system is now? I was on the dole when I was 18-21 and I'm now 36 so I'm guessing lots of things have changed LOL (and its been even longer since I was on austudy obviously!!!!!!)

Yes he needs to report every fortnight. If he makes contact now they can set it up for him to report online (there is an app for iPhone that can be set up). When he reports it will alter anything with your ppp if necessary. Get hime to phone up no later than the day before he is next due to be paid (sooner if he has received an austudy payment since his first shift)

Ahh ok cool thanks my love!!!!! I'll get him onto it, I don't think he gets paid for 10 days from the hospital because he's doing his training stuff at the moment.
