Nipple pain
My left nipple is starting to get quite painful when dd feeds
I did have pain the first month after having her because the left is a different shape to the right I've never had any issues with right
But now at 4 months its hurting again at the start of the feed when she latches and once she been on for a few seconds it gets better
She just started teething also and coming on and off because of distractions but the right side doesn't hurt so I'm confused
Lansinoh doesn't helping either

Can you describe the pain?
Is it like the stretchy feeling of baby sucking the nipple out? Or a stabby needle pain? Etc etc
-
I'm having the same thing the last few days in righty. It's almost like it feels raw or something. I suspect DD is getting lazy with her latching on.
-
Umm hard to describe kinda like its been over rubbed and it kinda does have a stabby feeling on the skin makes me cringe
Had it for a month but not red or cracked I looks like it normally does

Have you heard of vasospasm before? It is a constriction of blood flow to the nipple usually from trauma (bad attachment) or circulation issues. the only thing that helps is a warm washer on the nipple before a feed. Also keep all extremities warm, such as hands and feet. Google it and see if that's relevant.

Now the other side is getting a bit sore too

Thrush? I think a call to the ABA is in order.
-
Could be I'm recovering from oral thrush after being on antibiotics but I had dd looked at and she doesn't have any thrush
I can't do phone calls at the moment I have PND and talking in the phone makes me anxious for some reason
-
I had thrush quite bad but DS didn't. Check the symptoms and see how they match up.
-
Yeah I had thrush and ds had no symptoms.
Thrush pain is painful for the whole feed and a deep burning pain through the breast to your back even when not feeding. Nipples can be itchy too. Feeding feels gratey on the nipple and the pain doesn't subside until bub stops.
You can get daktarin oral gel to use on your nipples. Also get some probiotics and eat lots of natural yogurt and cut out as much sugar and high GI foods as possible.
Look up the RWH website 'thrush in lactation' for more info. It is written by a dr who did a PhD in thrush.

I wouldn't say it Hurts during all feed or through my breasts just my nipples mainly my left which has always been the more painful one
It feels like the first week of breastfeeding when your nipples are getting used to breastfeeding

I think I know the answer now I got AF back yesterday and the pain has gone
