cough cough cough cough fever
Our house has been plagued with the ... plague ... all winter long.
Since late May, actually.
DS2 has been hit the second worst, and is currently on his third round of anti-bs, and has a cough that just won't budge.
It's a non-productive cough, and is no longer violent enough to make him chuck (it calmed down a bit after starting this round of anti-bs) and is no longer causing him to wake, but is still lingering. It's a barking cough, no wheezing, no constriction, throat no longer sore, ears clear, nose no longer snotty, etc.
Last night for no apparent reason he started crying, and I went in to see him and noticed he was quite hot.
Temp - 39.9.
Was fine, he wanted muesli, I offered water, he said no, I administered cuddles and Panadol (not usually our first line of defence, but it was up very high very suddenly so I did) and then he quickly wanted to go back to sleep.
Temp was down to 38.4 quite quickly, so I settled him back down.
Temp still around 38.4 this morning, so he's having a "couch day" with DH, and DH will basically let him watch TV and eat fruit and yoghurt etc today ...
I know that a cough isn't a big deal, and that a fever alone isn't too bad either, I just hate it when they're sick.
He's basically fine behaviour wise - so part of me wants to let him run around etc, but as he'll want to go outside, get muddy and freezing and slobber all over DS2 and then I might have a sicker baby - if not two ...
So yeah. I just hate it when they're sick.
I can't wait for these winter bugs to nick off, and leave us alone.
