Ironing DH's shirts drives me nuts. All these fancy shirts are the pits to get creases out of.
I have an awesome steam iron, which does help but some creases still have a slight appearance. Then when you hang them up they crease again :(
I've used preen.
What I'm wondering is can you still starch shirts? Does it help? Ruin the fabric? Make life easier?

My Nana uses starch. I never have because it's very very rare to see me with an iron lol. Nana actually uses it in the wash - she's got a photo where she used too much and dads jeans are standing up on their own lol. So it would certainly stiffen things out, not sure how it would feel though!

I have no idea but I'd be interested to know more about starch. Does it just stiffen clothes? What's the benefit of using it?

Teach your DH how to iron his own shirts.
Then you will never have to worry about the fiddly bits ever again. ;)
My only concern here is that my DH leaves the iron on after using it and his shirts still don't look ironed and I end up reironing them.:

I've done some googling and apparently it will helped relsease the creases and also keep the shirt crease free for longer in the day.
I just don't know how much or when to use it.
Ok, well failing that, or even with that measure in place, here is some more information about starch.
Back when DH used to wear ironed uniforms every day, he used to get a liquid starch in a large 1L bottle and mix it up in a spray bottle and use it like ironing spray. It seemed to work a treat. I personally wouldn't use anything in an aerosol can, but the spray bottle means you can make it as wet/starchy as you like (or not) depending on which part of the thing you are ironing. eg. collars = lots of spray. back/front of shirt - not so much.
FWIW you might find ironing easier if you hang the shirts all smoothed out on a coathanger to dry. Always pre-moisten them a bit before you iron.
Also, I'm not 100% sure what kind of fiddly bits your DH's shirts have on them (does he moonlight as a Liberace double?) BUT there are methods to get the collar, cuffs, shoulders etc done with a minimum of hassle. There are a few youtube videos on it. This one proves that men can and do iron shirts well.
Have you tried fabulon? It's a spray starch for ironing. Check supermarket.

Lol MD he is an Elvis impersonator!! ;) nah just good old business shirts, just those fashionable ones which look great in the shop but go to hell when you want to wash them and iron them!
