Mucus plug
Hi, i am 37 and a hlf weeks, bubs has been engaged since appr 35weeeks, so know that bubs is on its way, but i was wondering when some of you who have had babies before lost there plug. A friend just gave birth and said that she diddnt even know that she had lost it.
I am getting full on painless braxton hicks, and feel more pressure on pelvis, have had increased mucus, and full on going to the loo.
Guess i am just being impatient and cant wait to meet the little one:) :)

I didn't lose my plug until I was in labour and at the hospital.
It's not uncommon however, to lose the plug up to 2w before labour starts!

Hi,
I am currently cooking baby # 5 and i have never lost my plug that i have seen. Ive had 2 x 38 wkers, 1 x 37 wker and a 35 wker. 2 of those i went into spontaneous labour and i have actually never even seen a plug to know what it looks like.
I have heard some of the midwives while i was in labour say i just lost my plug when they have done an examination but never seen it.
So no, you dont necessarily notice youve lost it.
I have also engaged with most of mine at about 32 wks and not had them for a good 5 to 6 wks later.

I lost my plug over a few days at 41w and was induced about 4 days later. As for engagement - Jenna popped in and out for the last few weeks, and unfortunately it didn't make labour comeany quicker!
But you might be a 38w cooker (I think I'm a 42w cooker ;) ) so who knows - maybe in the next few days you might get some action?

LOL Fi DH called me a slow cooker today on low...

I didn't loose mine til I was in labour and was told by the midwives that that's what it was. I had increased discharged 3 weeks before I was due and went 8 days over in the end. I have heard people have lost there plugs several weeks before labour also. It sounds like things are starting though, good luck!

Awww, Maggie good luck with the birth hun!!!

LMAO Christy - I think my sister and I both share those genes - 3 births, all late inductions. Ah well, perfection sometimes takes a little longer to bake!
Wouldn't it be funny if we both went early this time around to make up for last time? Oh to be a 38w mummy. Those last few weeks are like hell on earth. It alllllll changes at 38w - and not for the better.
Good luck - I hope you are getting some action Maggie :)
