Hi all, TTC second child. It took over a year with first and by the time it finally happened I had given up and was awaiting testing so didn't notice ovulation symptoms. I detected an lh surge on days 9 and 10 and had discharge consistent with ovulation. Now 5 days later I am displaying what could be ovulation symptoms - pain in ovary, discharge, nausea and exhaustion but didn't bring test kit to work.
Could the earlier surge have not been ovulation?
Can you check your cm and cp at work? I was reading you can get false ovulation symptoms if the egg is TRYING to release but is unsuccessful, the LAST day you have symptoms is the end of your fertile period, in saying that 5 days after ovulation COULD (not definite) also be the start of implantation (some people implant earlier/later than others). If you still have ewcm and you can feel your cervix is open I would say yes it is ovulation.
I had false ovulation 2 days before I actually did ovulate this month, it's frustrating!
I haven't checked cervix before. Would I need to have been checking to have something to compare to?
Usually it's easier. It's more obvious when there are differences you can notice.
Otherwise, there's always the option of just waiting a couple of weeks and doing a HPT :-) easier said than done though.
I recommend googling my beautiful cervix project when you're home, I found it absolutely enthralling and it helps you understand what's "going on down there" I think :-)

Got a positive opk today so now really confused about the ones last thurs and Friday. Time to try a different detection technique I think!

I would be inclined to think that this recent one is ovulation. I hate ovulation detector kits, those strips are hard to master and often misinterpreted. Have a look at fertility friend and try taking your temperature each morning.
Still cramping. And had pos opks until I ran out yesterday. Starting to worry something is wrong as it has been 5 days now.
Try a HPT? I've heard sometimes positive opks can also show pg! I wouldn't get my hopes up BUT you can at least rule that out :-)
What CD are you now?
Cd 20 of a 26-28 day regular cycle. I've never had ovulation symptoms before but wondering if this could mean I am having problems ovulating this time around as its been 6 days of symptoms. Cm is now creamy and only had ewcm for one day last week.
I swear next month I am doing the lot temps, monitoring cervix, opk....anything to avoid this confusion. If I don't get pg by dec I lose my paid mat leave so am probably getting a bit over stressed which could be the problem.
Probably unlikely you would get a BFP if you did a test anyway.
That does sound really odd though. It might not be ovulation symptoms, and as I say to everyone, you notice more when you're TTC. Maybe just ride it out for this month and from the day AF arrives start the other monitoring, it makes much more sense when you temp etc. but sometimes makes it even more frustrating!
