So I have thrush. Both oral and vaginal. Lucky me! Lol
Im also still bleeding slightly since giving birth.
The pharmacist gave me nilstat vaginal cream and an applicator. Im sure you can work out what he suggests I do with that. :o
Can I use the cream internally while Im still bleeding lightly?
Edit: when I say lightly I mean nothing more than spotting or streaky cm with the odd small "gush". Going through no more than 2 regular pads a day.
I would think you could. Did you tell the Pharmacist you were still bleeding?
Could you ring a healthline and ask them?

Oh I had exact same thing I had oral, vaginal and nipples and dd had oral and was starting to get vaginal cause I was on antibiotics due to a bit if retained placenta so I had light bleeding
I didn't actually think to ask if it was ok so I'm not sure if it is so I did it but I had no issues and it cleared up the oral thrush on the other hand took ages to clear I found using the nil stat and brushing my tongue everyday sped up the recovery but it was yuk to have
If your bit breastfeeding you could take the Canesten pill I think that does it all
I would get some oral tablets such as nilstat or diflucan one. I personally would feel funny about inserting anything while bleeding.
The pharmacist will have coniptions about giving diflucan to you while breastfeeding but a study done by a dr at the royal women's showed it had no side effects on baby (and I personally took three courses of nilstat oral AND about six diflucan and bub was fine). The study was about thrush in lactation relating to breast and nipple thrush, but the internal treatments are the same.
Are you in Melbourne? The royal women's has a clinic you can go to and they can give you cheaper prices on the meds.
Otherwise look up thrush in lactation Royal women's hospital and read about it.
I thought I had caught it from DD but it turns out she doesnt have it. Just me. :/ Which is good but it would make more sense if she did cause she had antibiotics after birth. Apparently Im just lucky. Lol
I am a bit apprehensive about the applicator to begin with, Ive never used anything like that. But I cant get back to the pharmacy until Friday. Not sure I can wait that long before starting treatment though, its driving me mental.

Your gut is not happy, did you have ab's recently? Creams are a bandaid fix, need to treat the underlying cause.
Loads of water, probiotics, coconut oil is antifungal and I have heaps more suggestions but its bed time. Get yourself off sugar and processed wheat/other foods. Load up on dark leafy greens... need to give your system a huge boost. Make sure you're getting enough sleep (where you can) and reduce any stress. x

Definitely , I used the cream an nil stat which helped but it didn't completely go away until my body recovered from the antibiotics
Also I was told baby can have thrush but not have symptoms
I went to buy some probiotics a week or so ago but at $30 a bottle it just wasnt feasable. And this week is no better.
Spoke to the midwife today at bubs check up and she said it should be fine to use the cream but to just apply it by hand, without the applicator as my cervix could still be quite low.
