Numb patch on thigh after birth?

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My baby was born a week ago. It was an unassisted vaginal delivery. I had no drugs apart from gas & air when the midwife was examining my tear, and syntocin after I delivered the placenta naturally because my uterus was "sluggish". I noticed maybe 10 hours later that there was a numb patch on my thigh, and it hasn't gone away. It feels like your chin does when you've been to the dentist and had anaesthetic. The midwives, gp and physio I've asked about it all first say, "You had an epidural?" When I say no, they then ask if I have any pain or redness (thinking blood clot). My skin does hurt just above the numb patch, but feels more like the kind of pain you get with carpet burn. I don't think that's what they mean when they say your legs can be "very tender to the touch" when you have a blood clot.

Has anyone else out there had something like this?

Is it where they injected the synt?

Now - I don't have much experience with numbness but I did have some blood clot issues after DS2 was born. My legs had really tender patches - like a really bad sunburn, topical, on the skin. So does it feel like that do you think? It was really, really sore. Hurt to move, to touch, to rest things on it, etc.

I got a numb patch on my leg after DS4 and it was caused by siatic pain and as I lost weight the numbness went away.

I had an intermittent numb spot on the front outer part of my thigh for a while. In my case it related to laxity of my pelvic & sacroiliac joints (ie like SPD) & my hip was out of correct alignment too. This must have been pressing on one of the nerves that travel through the lower back. Seeing a physio & doing exercises to strengthen my pelvic, back & tummy muscles fixed it for me. A friend had similar symptoms & hers was bursitis so there are probably a few possible causes.

I got a numb patch on my foot after having DS. I never got a proper diagnosis but think it was related to the extreme fluid retention I had which disappeared really quickly after birth. You probably don't want to hear this but the numb patch is still there 6 years later. .. never caused any problems though.
