child care rebate claim

Does anyone know how you claim for the child care rebate? DS started daycare in June, we have only been eligible for the CCB as I wasnt working or studying. But I am studying now and qualify for it (doing the minimum 15hrs a week), and I updated through the online website and it said we are now entitled to 50hrs CCB. But what about the CCR? Will it tell me if I get it? I tried to call this morning to find out, but I am not waiting over 40mins to ask a simple question lol, and I am not able to go in in person until Wednesday (I have to see them for something else anyway). Its all so confusing lol

You should be entitled to it if you qualify for CCB (even at 0%), meet the work/study test, and the centre is approved. See Child Care Rebate

if you are eligible for 50 hours ccb you are also eligible for ccr. it will depend on payment option you have chosen as to whether you get it paid direct to the child care centre, to yourself weekly or quarterly. you should be able to check that through your online services (there is an option to check child care usage - it should say from there what the money is doing) although it may take a couple of weeks for your child care to start discounting your bills. if you want to know exactly what's going to happen, you'll need to check payment options with centrelink and discuss with your child care if you are having it paid direct to them
