christmas present dilemma

I've got DD1 an ipod for Christmas. She's been begging for one for a few years now!

Here is my amusing dilemma... I wanted to get her the gen 4. I really don't think she needs the 5. Everywhere was sold out online, so I asked my brother to pick me one up when they were in town.

They came home with a 5. Now, I've just bought myself a gen 4, 2 months ago. I'm thinking of keeping the 5 myself & giving DD the 4... Is that completely selfish & wrong??? :lol:



I just need others opinions before I go ahead & do it! I had already bought her accessories for the 4, so if I give her the 5, they're useless & I don't really want to buy that stuff all over again now...

Totally keep the five!! Althoigh giving her your old one for Christmas may be a little dodgey :) but if it's totally reformatted for her. I'd probably tell her the truth - that she is a lucky girl and mummy has decided to give her mummy's old phone when mummy got a new one :)

Don't think you're being selfish at all. It's not like you went and bought the 5 on purpose to give her your old one, it was kinda out of your hands :)

Yeah it's not your fault that your brother couldn't get his instructions right ;) Put the 4 back to factory settings, change the screen protector and get an awesome cover and you'll be fine.

Ha ha she is lucky. She won't be expecting it at all.

I have covers & cords I've already ordered for the 4 in her favourite colours. And I'll give her what ever accessories come with the 5 that fit the 4 as well. I might even pretend mine is still missing & that we both got new ones ;) Since the 4 is in perfect condition & I still have the original packaging ready to go ;)

Ok, now that I've opened the 5 I think I made the right decision... there's not much of it. I won't be carrying it around without a very good case! Feels way too breakable!
