Childcare bond help
I had my DS enrolled at a daycare and paid the bond (over $600 in full). He is due to begin in January. I have just found out today that he will no longer need to go to daycare as our family situation has changed and care can be provided him without sending him to the centre.
It says that the bond is the holding bond is void and non-refundable if the child does not attend care there. Is this right? I suppose I have to cut my losses if it is. Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and was able to get their bond back?

Re: Childcare bond help
We got it back when we gave notice. Hope you can get it back.

Re: Childcare bond help
I haven't been in this experience, but if you explain the situation to them (and they've got a waiting list of people like my childcare does) then I think you have a chance. I would imagine they state those clauses so you don't go around holding spaces in lots of different centres. You were intending to use the centre. Good luck!

Re: Childcare bond help
For us the bond was returned after dd1 stopped going to childcare. I know some places will give u the full bond but it is the admin fee of usually $50-$60 that is the non refundable part.
Hope you get the amount back

Re: Childcare bond help
Wow that's a lot of money to lose if it's non refundable! Here's hoping that they'll refund due to your circumstances.

Re: Childcare bond help
The bond is usually a weeks full fees which you get back at termination of care if you give the appropriate amount of weeks notice in writing. There is usually an enrollment fee which is non refundable.

Re: Childcare bond help
Perhaps it would be better to attend, give your required notice on the first day and then withdraw and get the bond back.

Re: Childcare bond help
I paid a $250 deposit for ds2 to go to kinder and then decided not to send him. I didn't get it back unfortunately.
