Shade for Backyards When Renting
Our yard is so bare and gets 0 shade but I don't know what we could do about it. What are the best options for introducing shade while renting? Even just one area so we could have a retreat for food, drinks and me to sit in lol. There is a square line that is rarely used (we have another) that I've thought about making some sort of cover for? But out of what? And how best to attach so it can be removed during storms/wind and when we leave here (hopefully a long time from now)? Anyone have some good ideas!
Only have about $1000 to work with.

A friend has this thing you put over the old Hills Hoist washing line. Google Clothes Line Cover and you'll see what I mean.
Also, we have a portable shelter shade from straco - it is rectangular and can be pegged into the ground.
The downside with both of these options is that it is still fairly hot underneath, even if you are in the shade.

Go to Masters or Bunnings. They have pergolas for about $300-400.

We got our cantilever umbrella for about $100 from Bunnings it's great we have had it for a few years now.

Trees in pots placed where you want them. A shade sail or a gazebo. An out door umbrella.
