Four years, seven months, two weeks, five days
I think its time to say we are done.
Feeding had tapered towards the end of last year. New Year's Eve we had a talk about stopping. I figured, as always, we would just see. She fed before bed on New Year's Eve, covered me when she was done, and then we had cuddles and she went to sleep in my arms.
This morning was the first mention of boob since then. I said to her that I wasn't sure if there was any milk as it had been so long. She spent a few seconds attached, then told me there was nothing, covered me up, then changed the topic.
So I guess we are done. Not sure, but I'm guessing it's all done and dusted for us - and I'm ok with that. In fact, I'm proud of us both! We have achieved more than I could have ever imagined through this journey. Survived and thrived in spite of milk coming in late, severe inverted and then cracked nipples, mastitis. We kept going through my return to work even though I was always hopeless at expressing. We just made it work on our timetable and our rules.
four years, seven months, two weeks, five days - not bad given I doubted we would even have a bf relationship given family history, hormonal issues, and inverted nipples. I set out to make sure my precious girl got colostrum and ended up feeding until now :)
