Am I miscarrying?

Well I might be misscarrying. Started lightly bleeding today (red blood). I know I am either 4 weeks + 6 days (20dpo) or 5 (21dpo) weeks preg today, but had a scan and the sonographer said sac is in the uterus but only measuring 3-4 weeks (but he did do an abdominal scan not a vaginal). But I am confused I had a positive preg test at 11 dpo, had blood result of 831 at 14dpo and another blood result of 9761 this morning at 20 or 21 dpo. So if the sac has stopped growing, why is my HCG increasing so much? They said they will do another blood test in a couple of days and a another scan in 1 week, if I haven't miscarrried by then.

My sil had a blighted ovum which means there is a sac and placenta but no baby and she didn't miscarry until about 11 weeks pregnant. For some reason the hormones keep increasing and the placenta keeps growing without the baby.

First, I am sending you a hug. Sounds similar to my missed miscarriage, levels kept rising normally even though bubs had stopped growing. However, I hope this is not the case for you. Best wishes.
