I have been told to carry on as normal straight after transfer and also been told the complete opposite. That is to take a few days off and to put your feet up and relax!!

On my one successful transfer I took a week off, and did nothing. I watched dr who and did cross stitch all week.
That won't be possible next time tho as now I have a toddler to look after =)
I've done both, and both resulted in a BFN.
I think it's more about embryo quality, rather than anything else.
^^^ that! A dozen or more transfers and did things differently every. single. time and all BFN's. I sometimes wonder if it is just 'luck' that it works at all. However, I suggest put your feet up and chill out ;-)
