DD is teething. She has cut four teeth at the top in the last couple of weeks. She's been pretty good surprisingly, but the drool is excessive. I went to put her to sleep last night and noticed the patch of drool from her arvo sleep was the size of a basketball! She is soaking through a bib in less than an hour. I am covered in drool as is the whole house.
I expect drooling with teething, but does this sound excessive?
That's a lot of drool. DD4 had some, but never soaked a bib!
My DD1 was like that, my other 2 dribbled quite a bit but not nearly as much as her. Does she have a dummy? I found the dummy made her dribble more.
I gave up on bibs with DS. I just changed his clothes. A lot. And his bedding. And washed the carseat. Some kids just do.
Yeah, DD was like that too. I was envious of mums who didn't have to put bibs on to go out! :lol: DS dribbles when teething but that's about it. Amazing how different they all are!

As long as theres no cause for concern I'll just deal with it. She also has a cold (been going on for months now) so theres snot involved too. Yuck :lol:

We go through about 5 or 6 bibs a day if she is teething, it gets annoying
Jack is a shocker with drooling. I have started to use the baltic amber teething necklace and found its made a huge difference to the drool quantity. He doesn't sleep with it so drools in bed and in the morning but find a few hours of it being on he is dry. I tuck it in under his clothes against his skin and he doesn't even touch it. A lot of my baby group mums swear by them and I wasn't really into them but when one mum said it helps with drooling I thought why not try? I found the day his tooth erupted it was massive drool but apart from that its been a god send and saving me heaps of washing. I can tell when he is not wearing it. I used to call him beathoven but now by lunchtime he can go without a bib.

Vic, I wasn't sure about the amber necklace either. Maybe I could give it a try.
She hasn't drooled like this for any other teeth so I'm not sure why all the drool this time. I have to keep taking the sheet off her cot after every sleep because the wet patch is HUGE. I have gone through so many bibs from birth! First she was spewing all day long and now that the spews have gone it's drool :lol:
All 3 of mine have worn amber and the girls really weren't so bad, but heck, if it does make a difference, I'd hate to have seen how much DS dribbled without one....
Oh gosh my Buster was a massive drooler! Between that and the happy chucker that he also was, I was practically chained to the washing machine.
Yes tasha we replaced spew with drool too, I get jealous of people who can dress their babies in a nice outfit without a daggy bib on
Ohhh so am I! I hate having to put on a daggy bib. And every time I leave the house I have to rummage around for one with the least amount of dribble stain on it! :lol: And good ones are not cheap, I was shocked at how much a decent bib was.
DS2 is the drool king! We use the bibs with plastic on the back and he still manages to soak through 4-5 a day!
We can't even see any teething happening yet, he just loves to chew on his bibs.
DD1 was like that when she cut her 4 eye teeth. Her record was about 8 fully soaked bibs (could almost wring them out!) in a day! We had flown to Singapore that day and I had a plastic bag full of soaked bibs when we got to our hotel - foul!
She now has a rash/little blisters on her chin :( I'm trying to keep it as dry as I can, but I've been at work for 3 days this week in the afternoons so daycare can only do so much.
