Anyone else had this ? Is the recovery as bad as I have heard?
I am a little scared, but after today going through the horrendous bowel prep. (Having a colonoscopy t the same time) I just want it over and done with.

Thinking of you. I hope it all went well.
I've had a colonoscopy before and I only have one piece of advice - don't fart afterwards unless you are on a toilet or your mum is in the next stall willing to give up her undies to you....
A cousin had it done and yes said the pain was awful :( the bowel prep is horrible isn't it, all the best lovely, take the pain meds, take them ALL!!
I haven't had this, but know that I will be facing it inevitably. I hope it goes OK for you and is not too painful!
Bowel prep is rubbish as.
I have had surgery down there, but different ... don't touch the packing at all, and be prepared for it to be uncomfortable - manageable with pain relief though.
Take all the anti inflammatories they recommend. Don't skimp.
Have lots of things you can do while reclining on the couch. And lots of pads, and granny undies.
Good luck.
Thinking of you lilima xx
Good luck - hope everything goes well xx
Thanks everyone. Surgery went fine.
Not too much pain so far. Bearable. But wondering if it will get worse.
I am having problem with having a constant urge to urinate. Like a UTI . I have called surgeon but he hasn't got back to me.
Has anyone else had this after colonoscopy?
Also 2 polyps were found. I don't know anything g further about this. I dont want to google about it.
So does this mean I have higher risk of cancer?
I've never had a constant urge to urinate after a colonoscopy.
Polyps can turn into cancers but usually they remove them when they find them so they can't grow. I think it just means you will need to have colonoscopies more regularly (maybe every 2 years instead of every 5 years?).
Bummer (literally) about having more frequent colonoscopies . They suck!
Spoke to surgeon about needing to pee all the time. He said it is common after roid removal. Her recommended running a bath and peeling in the bath as the warm water helps....
Glad you're ok :)
Maybe pee in the shower, so the acid doesn't stay on or near you?
Can't imagine wanting to do it in the bath ... ?
Yeah- couldn't bring myself to pee in the bath. Seems to have improved now anyway
Just wanted to put it out there to anyone who has heard how terrible recovery is from this procedure. I found the whole thing very manageable, and 2 weeks on I am already back to running etc. I have developed another skin tag type thing so I will need another procedure in October :( But because I find recover so easy the surgeon will do it in his office under local - so that's good :)
Glad it went smoothly for you! :)
