I am by no means an expert, but from what I know from my patients, if you have absolutely no access to Medicare you will be charged for services, even if in a public hospital. :(
I truely hope I am wrong and someone can provide more accurate info!!
Good luck!
@MamaK Thnks for ur reply[emoji4]
Yeah i m paying for antenatal visits nd for other scans nd tests tooo... But my question is can sm1 hv info wat will a delivery cost in public hospital SA..
Sm1 told me it will cost about AU $15,000[emoji24][emoji85]
I think that might be fore the most complicated of deliveries, ie: Caesarean section.
I read somewhere that for a straight forward birth you could be looking at around $4000.
@ MamaK u r awesome[emoji120]
Although $ 4000 r not less bt still sounds better than 15 K
Plz if anyone hv suggestions to cut the cost plz do share as we r running short of money[emoji21]
Your hospital will be able to give you a breakdown of costs. Just ask your caregivers.
Your posts would probably be easier to read and get more responses if you used plain English rather than text speak. Just Sayin' ;) and trying to help!
Birthing at home with a private midwife may be more cost effective.
Thnx 4 ur help @ amity @ hotl
