I can't believe that Ryan is 1month already! It's going way too fast.
He is doing really well though and is growing heaps.

Hey everyone, Naomi IKWYM about how quickly the time passes - I can't believe Emily is nearly 6wks old.

She is doing really well - except when put down to play. She absolutley hates its and will only tolerate it for 5mins or so at a time. I keep trying to extend the time before I pick her up a bit but don't want her to end up hating being on her playmate. Suggestions??

Scarlett, Nicholas used to scream when we put him on his playmat, and we did extend the amout of time he was on it, within a couple of weeks, he started loving it, so persevere, she will be loving it soon.
Ryan on the other hand isnt too bad on his playmat, he is lifting his head more everytime he's on it to have a good look around.

Thanks Naomi, its nice to know that it worked for someone. I'm just a bit of a wuss when it comes to letting her cry - she is the master manipulator and only 6wks old!!

My turn to say how time has flown. Matthew is one month old and I just can't believe it.

It's amazing that in that time how much he has grown as well as developed. He follows me around the room now with his eyes and he just loves his baths. He is awake more often too. He is sleeping well at night, often going down at 11pm or 12am and not waking until 6am or 7am.

I got my first smile the other day! Very gummy aren't they - just gorgeous!

You girls are telling me, time has flown past for us here too. Nathaniel is 5and a half weeks already and just past his offical due date this past monday...how time flys.....all good but. He sleeping right now and things are all going well at home except he prefer to stay awake t night than during the day....:( bummer for us...but slowly getting out of this habit...

Hey Nel, its amazing how time flies isn't it. Am very jelous about the sleeping, Emily still gets up at least once a night, we have had one 51/2hour stint but she hasn't repeated it. Fingers crossed it happens soon. Aren't the smiles wonderful, makes everything worthwhile.

Hi everyone, i hope you and your bubs are all doing well.
Ryan did his first proper smile today yay! It was so cute.
He's eating alot which means i look like daisy the cow LOL, Does anyone else leak constantly?
I went to have a shower this morning and i was running like a tap.
He's sleeping really well, only wakes up once during the night which is good.
I had him weighed a couple of days ago and he's gained 400g in just over a week which i'm told is excelent.

Hi everyone,

Rob we had that problem with emily a few weeks ago and found that trying to really differentiate between night and day helped. We gave her heaps of stimulation during day feeds and then played etc. At night, about 9-10pm we bathed her and then feed her in very low light, with no talking, eye contact etc. We then put her straight to bed. It took about a week but she soon got the idea and now goes straight back to sleep after most night feeds. Good luck.

Just got back from our 6wk check and Emily is a very healthy baby to quote the dr. I wasn't worried but it is nice to have someone tell you that. I cant believe how much she has grown though, 8cm in length, 3cm in head circuference and is now 4.9kg (3.3 born) its amazing when you think about it. Anyway enough boasting from me. Hope everyone is well.
