IVF Trial in last stage before approval

Hi Ladies, :help:

I have blocked fallopian tubes and my gyno has suggested I need IVF. As I dont have insurance I can either pay for the procedure out of our own pocket which we have no problem with. OR Do an IVF Trial which is in the the very last stage before getting approved. The process of the Trial only differs with the FSH. With normal IVF you get FSH daily injections for a number of days. In the trial you get FSH injected as a ONE dose which lasts over several days. Everything else in this IVF trial process is exactly the same. Plus, if I do the trial its free.

My DH is concerned as what if we get a damaged child from the trial? I'm confused and not sure what to do? I think my dh is happier to pay for IVF than to do a trial.

What would you do? I know you cant answer this major question for me but some input would be great.

I am not a doctor but I can't see any increased risk to a child resulting from a trial in how the dosage of FSH is administered. Every conception is an unknown quantity and the proof is in the pudding as they say.

The trial is a great idea. I just missed out on being in one myself as we had already started IVF otherwise I would have gone for it. The decision is ultimately yours of course, but don't miss out because you have concerns that might be allayed by further discussion. Have a talk with your specialist and see if that helps.

I wouldnt think that there would b any increased risk involved either. When you think about it any normal conception or pregnancy has risks anyway. ;) I'd give it a go, but thats me :) Good luck with your decision.
