Hi maggie, I responded to this in the other thread :)
Magiie,
sleeping bags are considered more safe than blankets. I have had Charlie in a sleeping bag since he was 4 weeks old and I have to admit, I prefer them to blankets too. The one time I couldn't put him in a bag coz the two I had were both in the wash, he kept wiggling out of the blankets all night, then waking up and getting upset coz he was cold!
He was also a baby who hated being wrapped, so I understand where you're coming from.
Eliza went into a sleeping bag from 5 weeks cause she was a wriggler. She is 19 months and had very few nights out of one. I found the ones over winter with the long arms worked good with her startle reflex as she couldnt hit herself and wake because of the padding

Is there a nice light weight summer version or should I stick to muslin wraps over summer? My bubba is due in mid Feb but I like the idea of the sleeping bags...
yes there are lightweight sleepin bags.
grobag have a 0.5 tog (which is for an nursery room temp of 24-26 I think)
and living textiles have a 0.2-0.5 tog one.
The living textiles bags are about half the price of the grobag version, but chooice of design/colour etc is more limited.
Thanks Rayray! I'm off to the PBC expo tomorrow so will keep my eyes peeled for them there! :)
:)
Milo and I are going tomorrow as well. Maybe we will see you there...
They also sell them most of the baby shops, and online.
