I did once DD dropped......could be that??
It is indeed uncomfortable and if it the same as what i felt and had.. it gets worse!!
Hope you feel better soon tho :D
I can sympathise with you on the feeling like your pelvis is going to collapse!!! I have been feeling like this for weeks... especially in the evenings and during the night in bed.
As for the bulgy feeling... I have no idea as to what that could be... perhaps give your Dr or midwife a call... there is no harm in asking.
I hope you start feeling better soon
I've got exactly the same thing happening Caro if that's any comfort.
Count me in on that one too :(
I feel exactly like a crochety old woman alot,,,and when i walk, it feels like a huge heavy spiky bowling ball about to fall out. Cant help you on making it any better, as I know my bubba is not engaged,,,it is almost like he is trying to burrow down, but cant fit. But then again, this is a huge bubba (US proved he is 2.5 weeks ahead on bone measurements that normal),,,,,so who knows??
Thanks girls! I have no idea if he is head down or what, he just seems so everywhere if that makes sense! The thing I have noticed more with this baby is that his limbs stick out more, he always had this, hmmm might be his elbow or something but its boney and hard, stick out of my tummy above my belly button. He seesm and feel huge but most likley is small.
Maybe just being baby number six my pelvis has had enough!
Is it strange for me to be suffering from the same so early? I am asking my ob next week but atm, I can barely walk :(
Dan I was feeling it at 24 weeks too, seriously! Worse now of course but was feeling it then too and asked the same questin as you and my gp said "Yes" just everything geariong up for birth.
Let me know what your ob says ok
I have had the same problem for the last few days, i can hardly walk, yet Jett is not engaged yet, he was 1/5 down apparantly, but i am getting period like pain aswell. I asked dr about pains that i had last week and he said its just bubba getting ready and stretching everything. HTH Jenni
Hi girls
The problem you are having with your collapsing pelvis is caused by a hormone called relaxin. This hormone causes all your ligaments and joints to stretch and loosen ready for birth. The bulging sensation is caused by your baby pressing down. It could also be cause by engorgement. Sometime things down there start to swell due to the increase blood supply. Be careful when lifting anything heavy. Try to avoid quick movements, especially turning over in bed, this can cause a very nasty stabbing pain in your pubic bone
yes alan! The stabbing pain in my pubic bone is AGONY!!
Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening during the day?
Sorry Danni, not really. Just try to move slowly. No quick movements. Try to keep your pevlis well aligned
:crying: Oh no Alan!! Do you think some hydrotherapy can help loosen things up?
uggh I have this aswell. Feels like everything is just going to fall out!!
Well Alan I vote that my Dh's next life around has thirty kids and all naturally! And may they all be big heffa babes for him too!
I think Pheen is bum down, cause all the harsh movements are low down where it feels he is kicking my private area into space!
Yep, I've been there with pregnancy 2,3,4. I am expecting the same with baby 5 (due july 2006). Everything just kinda goes 'south' in late pregnancy. Mention your feelings with your doctor and insist that he/she checks that the pressure hasn't caused problems with your pelvic floor.
Good luck!
Yep - Sorry Caro and Soul - I did mean Soul! (Gee - I must be pregnant!)
BTW everyone - especially you Danni m'dear - when I complained that I was having trouble walking due to the pubic and pelvic joint bone pain at 16 weeks to my obstetrician - the b@stard gave me a huge grin and said "that's fantastic news!" I thought - what a horrible man - he's got sadistic tendencies. But no - he went on to explain that when you have these relaxin type pains - it bodes very very well for a good delivery because everything's loosening up nice and early. He went on to say "just wait until you are 28 weeks - you'll hardly be able to walk!". But it's not that much worse now that it was at 16weeks in reality.
Kar lmao I knew who ya meant ya goose! omg really I hope so cause I started with this pelvic pain at 12 weeks and no one believed me! Now I am a lil excited to think it may help with labour! omg I hope so! I can barley walk and the pain is horrendous but yeah I am going to metnion it to the mids on thursday.
