Embarassing wind problem
Does anyone else have incredibly bad wind? I have to keep running out of the office to the bathroom - which is getting hard to explain!
Does anyone know if there is something I can take while pregnant that would ease the "pressure"?
My hubby told me "You're out of control" last night, it was almost like a orchestra. Definately no lighting of candles in our place at the moment.

I had a bit of that early on as well and whilst I still have the odd attack here and there, for me it has really settled alot. So all I can say is that with a few weeks it may calm down by itself. Also sometimes the food you eat can make it worse - meat always made it worse for me!

I had bad wind during my pregnancy too, and it seemed the bigger I got, the worst it got! It was as though there was too much pressure in my gut, and I couldn't control myself. Hopefully it'll settle down cause it is a tad embarrasing lol

have heard that peppermint tea can help. I think i read that a current pregnacy/birth magazine, check it out before hand thou.. But, i think its just one of those things unfortunatly. As dh says to me, 'its all for a good cause'
I am lucky, mostly in the office on my own, so tend to be able to toot away as i please :)
You might also find that some foods that you normally wouldnt have a reaction to (eg onions) you will now as you change. I know my sister couldnt eat chilli anymore. So, maybe keeping an eye on what you eat, and the level of 'gas' might help figure a few bits out.

Hiya, here's an article I found ... it says Ginger is good at preventing/helping flatulence ... which is even better because it also helps with morning sickness.

I have had it bad too but I find it usually doesnt smell much. I have a cushion on my chair at work and it muffles any noise hee hee hee...

omg lmao this is hilarious, sorry warped sense of humour~!
It is imbarressing, but not much you can do except maybe try not to eat too much of these foods which do tend to cause flatulence.
Beans
Peas
Broccoli, cauliflower
aisins, prunes
Apples
Fruit juices (because of the fructose they contain)
there are others but cant remember them all.

you can get DeGas Capsules from the chemist. Take 1-2 as needed

Alan, I have found in the past that DeGas is good for tummy wind but not so helpful for 'rear' wind!
Activated Charcoal capsules are another alternative, they help not only with *ahem* potential odour issues, but also at the comfort level. (Caveat - don't use for long periods of time as you could end up nutrient deficient - they absorb all sorts and carry it straight out the bowel). But good as a short term solution!

I have to tell you, it makes my daily trips to the treadmill at the gym pretty interesting. Just because I can't hear with the iPod on, doesn't mean the rest of the gym doesn't LOL. Still, helps you get up some speed!!!
