FSH Levels
Just starting TTC and had first range of blood tests on Monday for Day 2 of my cycle.
When I first came off the pill in December my FSH was 12 and my GP was concerned about this and sent me off to a fertility specialist.
My FSH is now 8, is this good? What should it be?

Shoegal,
FSH levels should ideally be lower than 10, and preferably lower than 7. FSH levels are an indicator of your ovarian reserve and a higher number can indicate decreased ovarian reserve.
But, having said that, decreased ovarian reserve isn't infertility, it may only be that it may be more difficult to conceive.

Shoegal, I also have had elevated FSH levels in the past few months (highest was 11, last one came back at 8 and my FS was happy with that) - just remember that they can fluctuate quite dramatically from month to month, so yours might be even lower next month. Mine have dropped since my last lap surgery which basically was a 'clean up' from a previous surgery so there are many factors that can affect your levels.

Willow is right, your FSH levels are only one portion of a big picture, so I wouldn't put as much stock into it unless you get repeated high levels.

Thanks for the reassurance; I am so glad I found this forum.
Nobody knows we are TTC so it is nice to share my journey and questions with others.
