Hi, what is the safest and most effective way to deal with vaginal thrush when 29 weeks pregnant?
Obviously I would go to the doctors, but being a Saturday Night and beginning to get really uncomfortable I would like to get on top of this asap.

Gross I know but I have heard natural yoghurt applied liberally works.
Hi Relle
I have heard of the natural youghurt remedy as well. Good luck.

Thanks girls. I will have to wait till tomorrow then, home alone with the boys. I have canasten cream here, but no yoghurt! lol
I found that canestan pessaries worked best for me rather than the cream :) Would insert them just before bed and wear a pad - think it's a 6 day treatment as well and the process each night was far quicker than the cream....but that was me ;)
Hope you get comfy soon!!
I had thrush when I was about 30 weeks pregnant too.. I used caneston cream and it cleared up the thrush pretty much straight away.
I have also been told about the yoghurt thing. My GP says it apparently works really well.
i had it all the time with my last pregnancy! Canestan cream !
couldnt handle the thought of yogurt myself!
I used Caneston but was advised by the pharamacy not to use the inserter thingy, and just to apply externally and as far as possible without it.
Definitely use Yoghurt.
*hugs*

well i had a yeast infection - i know not the same - i had to treat for 7 days. it still was there so i had to treat for 7 more days then it was gone. i used canetan. the "bullet" style that you insert in you vagina. after 14 days it worked. i used external canestan cream for the itch!
I got thrush so many times when preg with Tehya is wasn't funny. Just very itchy ;) Anyway I was told by both the chemist and the Dr to use the Canestan, I could use the applicator just don't insert it too far.
Relle, I hope you find some relief hun. I know how uncomfy it is.
Thanks girls!
I tracked down the tube I had last night, and already feel soooooo much better! lol
I will see how that goes for a day or 2 and if it still persists I will get some applicators!
i heard eating yoghurt is good for it too dunno if thats true though?
Yoghurt is great eat it and insert it
Thanks Alan!
I wish I could afford the inLiven etc as that's supposed to be brilliant.
I've been using the Caneston, the cream, and also drinking yakult daily, that's been helping heaps. Need more yakult! With the caneston, I've been half-filling the applicator and using that (recommended by GP) and my GP has also said the pessaries are OK. Not the tablets though.
