dtd still painful
errrmmm bit embarrasing really.
I had an elective c/s nearly 11 months ago and dtd is still painful. It's not the scar hurting. I don't understand why. We didn't get around to it until 4 months after Will was born and don't very often still(oh the romance of having 2 little darlings!). But it is so damn painful that i don't exactly look forward to it.
Just wondering if this happened with anyone else or if anyone has any ideas why?

Could it be because you are tense and worried it will hurt that it is hurting?
I was exactly the same up until last week. We DTD the week before and it hurt like i was a virgin again. I thought it would never fix. But then i decided to take some of those horny goat weed tablets for low libido as i really have no libido what so ever since Jesse. We DTD on monday and it didnt hurt what to ever! Because i wasnt tense and because i actually wanted to do it, i felt no pain for the first time in nearly 8 months! It was amazing the difference.
Do you think that you continue to hurt because you are scared of hurting and are not relaxed and wanting to do it?

Hi girls
Thanks for your replies. Can't really talk to the dr as nice as he is he is abit of an old duffer and i just wouldn't feel comfy. Might have a go with the horny goat weed tablets (lol at name) and see if it gets better if we do it more often!
Thanks again girls

Hi Julie, I had lots of problems with pain on DTD for quite some time. Some of it was due to scarring, but some of it was due to lowered oestrogen levels, which make the vaginal tissues drier and thinner, so that DTD can actually cause abrasions. Unfortunately, once it hurts you start to anticipate the pain and it gets worse cos you are tensed up.
I saw a dr who gave me these oestrogen pessaries for up the VuhJayJay, that really helped. I noticed a difference after probably only a week or two. I know you don't feel comfy discussing this with your dr, but maybe there is a women's health or a sexual health clinic in your area where you can see a lady dr?
Good luck, don't suffer unnecessarily, I'm sure the dr will be able to help you.

Yeah, Julie, I was going to ask if you are breastfeeding - I was told that can make things drier down there, so its more comfortable if you use lubrication.

Snacks - yep - still BF, but have been a good friend of KY since before DS#1 was born as my bod has seemingly stopped working in that area of production!
Princess Confused - we're TTC as well so a bit of a bugger of a situation really
