LOL Presentation
Hi there,
I dont know if anybody knows the answer to this, but it doesnt hurt to ask. At my last antenatal visit (at 36+1 weeks) my midwife wrote down LOL for the babys presentation. I gather it means Left Occiput Lateral? (I doubt it means laughing out loud presentation ;) )But what does that actually mean? I should have asked her, but didnt read her notes until after she had left.
Thanks!

Hi,
I just gooled and found this
LOL: Left Occiput Lateral (the back fontanelle is to the mother's left side). I guess it means which way bubs is laying in your pelvis. But maybe someone can confirm this.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

It means that the bubs back is on the left hand side of your tummy. For birth, the optimum position is to have bubs back out the front and slightly to the left or right (just on the otherside of your belly button). Bub still had plenty of time to move around. Lateral is bubs back to to the side, Posterior is bubs back to your back, and Anterior is bubs back to the front (best for birth). Hope that helps :)
