Back to square one

Im a bit sad at the moment I got to 15 days past transfer and wound up in hospital having an early miscarriage. I dont know where to turn I was under the impression when I had my first nurses interview that if something went wrong they would find out what it was. My GP thinks that because I have a high number of thyroid antibodies that they may be the cause of our infertility but he said the clinic will deal with this and the clinic said he will deal with this. If it is these antibodies then every attempt we have at trying to have a baby will fail because they keep attacking it. We are back to square one IVF#1 Failed and still no answers. Im at the end of my teather what do I do to get someone to listen to us and ultimately help us have our own child.:cry:

Can I ask how you GP draw the conclusion that you have thyroid anitbodies? through b/t or anything? I think your FS should definately look at it and give you his point of view before going into another cycle...

Ususally my FS would offer his opinion as of how the cycle went and what's the next step, but mind you, I only had our very 1st cycle of IVF (which failed), he just recommended me to do a FET...but I did brought to his attention of things worthwhile check, he said no, not at this stage...so I trusted him....I guess our job is to remind them what they might have been missed (as we are not their one and only patient), and then trust his experise to certain extent.

I think you should definately have a good chat with your FS...let us know how you go...

Im so sorry to hear of your experience. Sadly it is very common to find no-one listen to you in this process. I found that I had to change specialists to get one who listened to me and now we have so many answers, its great!

Hope you can convince them to start taking you seriously, matey.

Thanks so much everyone I see FS on saturday so Im not going to leave without a plan I hope. I think its time to be firm and take control to get someone to listen.
Bei Bei : I found out about Thyroid antibodies when I had acute thyroiditis 2 years ago and my thyroid was overactive. My antibodie count is 26000 and its range for normal is between 1-100. So I hope my FS listens to our concerns.

Hi everyone thanks for your support.
I dont have any news yet because FS said that he doesnt no what is wrong he doesnt think my high levels of thyroid antibodies have anything to do with it and the fact I was so sick when I miscarried is just one of those things. Im so p***** off his last words were I m not sure what you want me to do for you? Well dah I want you to tell me why we cant get pregnant and seem a l;ittle interested and want to see how much of an impact my thyroid is having on our infertility In october it will be 3 yrs since we started trying I had enough and dont know who to go to or who to see I think they all think Im a hypocondriact.

Im feeling more positive now though I ve accepted what happened but im not hopeful that another cycle of IVF will work if they cant even tell me what went wrong this time??

Collo04, I am sorry that you feel a bit lost at the moment and FS doesn't seem not much of a help...it is so frustrating that he being the expert doesn't seem capable of offering any advice...tell him that you are not sure what to do with his bill either!!

Oh Collo Im so sorry you Dr was unfair. I hate it when they treat you like that as if come on next person please. I glad your feeling abit better and I know your turn is coming hun. Good luck!!!:)
