I lost my plug this morning...
Not sure if my waters have broken, but I went to the toilet, and not long after it felt like more coming out...without control IYKWIM. I dont know if my bladder was not quite empty, or my waters have come out! It was not a large amount. Looks clear. What should it look like?
What should I do? Wait for contractions or ring the hospital.... I'm not ready yet LOL!!!!

Ally - hun, how exciting about your plug ( I know not in your case, but ykwim) I can't believe it is all getting that close till bubs comes.
Did the liquid have a smell to it at all? Most women say that their waters have a sort of sweet smell like semen. Are you still having discharge? Even if it is your waters, sometimes if the hindwaters spring a leak they can also reseal and the loss stops iykwim.
If you are worried it is your waters, definately give your hossie or OB a call hun!
OMG Ellyboo72, sounds like it could be. Mine actually popped so there was no confusion. I'd probably wait for contractions to start but if nothings happened by morning go to the hospital and have them take a look. It doesn't always start straight away. Goodluck and :hugs:
Ally, when my waters broke I thought I'd wet myself LOL. It was only because they were tinged with pink that I knew it wasn't urine. And then I kept leaking (and leaking, and leaking some more!).
Seriously, I would be giving your Ob/hospital a call hun. Good luck, and let us know what happens.
YAY a June buddy about to pop!
When I lost the plug with Mason I thought it was the waters as it was dripping a bit after I had gone to the toilet and there was no blood. About an hour later I got another bit of mucous that was blood tinged.
When I got to the hospital the waters were intact so the dripping must have been the first part of the plug. Ring the midwives at the hospital for a chat about it JIC it is the waters.

Thanks Ladies! I havent had any more leaks! I'm getting BH's regularly now, but nothing painful. I phoned the hossy, and they didnt seem too concerned! I think I will just go to bed now and wait to see what may happen :)

1. Spontaneous Rupture of Membranes (SROM)
Commonly known as the ‘breaking of the waters’, this happens when the amniotic sac (which surrounds the baby) ruptures, resulting in amniotic fluid trickling or gushing from your vagina. This happens as the first sign of labour in around 15-25% of labours, so it’s not as common as the TV soap operas would have you believe. You may notice a smaller gush of waters or sometimes it may be an enormous flood. Some women also notice a ‘popping’ sensation as their waters break.
Amniotic fluid can leak for days and even after the waters have broken, the fluid will still be replenished. If you suspect you have broken your waters, pop a pad on (do not use tampons) and call your midwife or labour ward who will ask a few questions to help distinguish what has happened. Sometimes it may be a bladder leak – don’t feel embarrassed if this is the case, as it’s quite common in the latter stages of pregnancy.
Some indicators that your waters that have broken are:
* Having no control over the flow
* A panty liner is inadequate to absorb the fluid
* The pad is wet more than once, and
* It doesn’t smell like urine
Some women describe their waters smelling a bit like ‘semen,’ so if you do notice a smell, mention this to the midwife. Your waters should be clear or may have a pink tinge to them. If they are green, brown or any other colour you should get checked out by your doctor or midwife.
Waters usually break during the night, some wake to their waters breaking and some wake to go to the toilet and find their water breaks as they get up. It can happen other times also.

What is happening?
Here is a message from our due in June thread. Ally has had a baby girl.

Howdy all.
Ally is doing well. Little Sophie wanted to arrive a little early.
I think Ally mentioned it somewhere here, that she lost her plug??? yesterday morning, then yesterday evening had a little bit of water breaking. At 1.00am this morning, she started getting contractions 5min apart. Got to 3min apart once we were at the hospital, but then they just faded away.
But all is well now, and i'm the proudest (and tiredess??) dad.
Thanks to all on this forum who have supported Ally since she has joined BB. And thanks for encouraging her to use the computer all the time and not letting me get on.
