Good topic.
I am also interested to hear any info on this!!!
Yep my advise is to do it. I started at 34 weeks and you can either do it everyday or every second day. I used a lubricant while doing it. They suggest any type of cooking oil can be used also. I used KY as i hads some handy. I tried to do it every day but did do it very regularly. I also sometimes would do it in the bath or shower if i remembered. I didnt tear at all!
thanks heather,
will definately do it then. congrats on not tearing at all. wow - definately makes the massage worth a try!!

I did it once at about 38 weeks, not the most pleasant thing to do but beneficial. I used sweet almond oil. There is a technique so I would look it up in a book or Internet. I used the instruction sheet from our ante-natel classes. I ended up with an emergency c-sect so didn't need to do it anyway.
Has anyone tried using the 'Epi-no' ??? are they anygood??

JUst looked up the Perrennial massage on various sites & pretty much it says in a study on 1400 women from May 2004 til Feb 2005. It made NO difference to tearing, after labour pain etc, etc...
But it can't hurt I guess!?
