Ovulation/Cycle Q:
I'm trying to figure out when I'm due to ovulate on a calender. I'm confused about what to call my cycle length because the length has varied slightly for the last couple of months.
So, If my cycles lengths are
30 days - April,
27 days - May,
What do I count my cycle length as?
Is is counted as the last cycle length (27 days) or do I take an average (28-29 days)?
Please help

Oh Tictac,
If only we could live in a perfect world where we all O'd on day 14 and had 28 day cycle, how easy it would be.
I don't think there is a precise answer to this. I'd be inclined to take it as the shortest length cycle, because then the calendar will predict the earliest possible day and you can take it to be also within a range of a few days after that as well. A cycle length which varies up to 5 days is perfectly normal.
Do you have other signs of O? I'd also be inclined to get acquainted with physical signs of O so you can pinpoint it more accurately.
GOOD LUCK.

Thanks ticklish :D if only huh!
Sometimes I get O pain and CM but last time I had nothing , no symptoms
We're TTC a boy so I wanted to pin point the O day if possible to increase our chances.

Tictac i would recommend you start charting your temps and invest in some OPKs. also, sorry about TMI, but do you check for CM internally? lots of people can't find any unless they do that.
Good luck, the best way to have a boy is to DTD a lot around your fertile time.
As a general rule, the average luteal phase is around 14 days, so if you take that off the end of your cycle, that should give you a rough idea of when you are possibly going to O (and of course you're fertile for about 4 days before that).
Hope this helps!

Thanks Sally :D
I just purchased a 7 day OPT so I'm going to give that a go! At this stage I'm steering clear of taking my temperature because I could see my self going a little batty with that.
