After researching slings, I got a baba sling when I was pregnant because I thought it would best suit my needs.
I ended up having a large baby (at 3 weeks old his length is 59cm and weighs nearly 5kg) and I favour the position of having him lie across me ( I think it's the hammock position, but I have his head up the end of the bit that goes over my shoulder).
To me he seems too long for this position, so I think I'm doing something wrong.
Firstly, the padded bit (with the label) that's supposed to go on one shoulder rides up onto my neck and the sling bit kind of twists.
Secondly, my baby seems cramped in this position, is he supposed to be able to stretch his legs right out in this position? They kind of bunch up and this really worries me.
Thirdly, when he's in it, there seems to be a lot of excess fabric bunched up under him, does that mean he's supposed to be like inside it more? But if he was, it would cover his head.
I don't know??? I just don't get it.
I thought it would be exceptionally easy to use (which is why I got it over the HAB) but it's not and I really need it at the moment as I can't put him down at all during the day and am unable to get anything done without a sling.
I'm at my end with it and even considering an ergo with the insert thingy, but it's exxy, like around $200 all up.
Please help! ARGh!
TIA
