S&S

Hi there,
I had an appointment on fri and i was 38weeks, the doc did an internal to see if i was favourable for an induction on the 5th my Edd. While he was in there he did a stretch and sweep, as a result i have had alot of brownish blood stained mucus which i presume is my MP, what is the likley hood of me going into labour be for my due date after having the S&S

As I understand it, it is usual for a membrane sweep to cause the brownish discharge (or so I was told when I was given an S&S) and it may have dislodged part of your mucous plug.

I'm not sure whether it would mean you will go into labour before your due date, so not much help there, sorry :(

S&S usualy causes a brownish discharge and often a small amount of bleeding. The theory behind an S&S is that it encourages you to go into labour but there is no gurantee that you will
