Hi there,
I am a newbie and wanted to say I am really enjoying being a part of bellybelly .
So Thank you. I am 36 & have been TTC for a couple of months now .I am interested to
know from other members of my age group how long did it take to get their BFP?
Any wise words of advice are most welcome. I am looking forward to becoming a
1st Trimester Member one day soon!!:)

I'm 36 and in my third trimester...
It took us 3 years to get a BFP...BUT I have some other fertility issues that I don't think are particularly related to age.
Many of my friends (who are 36) got their BFP's within months...
One of the things I would suggest is doing some charting...check out the website "fertility friend" which does online charting...it helped us greatly in terms of pinpointing the 'days' to DTD! You'll need a digital basal temp. thermometer...
I found that really worthwhile...

We weren't even trying and I had been on a 4 week course of anti-biotics for helicobacter pylori and BANG (sorry, poor choice of word there...) BFP. Our little one is going to arrive about 12 months before we had originally planned, but we're ecstatic about it. I'm 38 at present.
Two months for first pregnancy when I was 36, which sadly ended in miscarriage. Six months for second pregnancy when I was 37 with baby due in August.
I think six months is about the norm if you're officially "trying" ie. having regular sex at the right times and watching your cycle and if it takes longer they recommend getting some tests.
I was 37 when I tried to conceive the first time. I had just about convinced myself it would take years... and even asked my DH if he wanted to consider IVF if we weren't successful or just be childless (and travel the world).
So it was a surprise to me to fall pregnant within 1-3 months of TTC. I guess I didn't put any pressure on myself, and we weren't going at it like rabbits. In fact, when I got the BFP, hubby said "when" did that happen??
What was more surprising is that the ultrasounds picked up a big cyst on my ovary which was cut off when my baby was born. Apparantly that rendered one of my ovaries a dud at the time. It was all fixed up once it was cut off.
Then about 8 months after #1 was born... we talked about having a second child. Again, I thought it was just a fluke the first time, so I expected a much longer TTC. But noooo.... within 1-2 months of 'trying' (sex about twice a month!)... then I was pregnant again... at 39yo!!
People say that I must be fertile... but in honesty - I've had sex for 22 years - and sometimes it's been unprotected over those silly years - and I've never been pregnant.

I got pg accidentally at New Year's at age 40 - still can't work out how it happened as DH and I had taken the usual precautions during what is usually my fertile time - all I can think is that I O'd earlier than usual and that his guys were especially long lived. Sadly it ended in m/c. One of my friends is 40 and pg and she didn't plan it either.
I was 34 wwith Mackenzie and it took about 6 weeks after being on the pill for 18 years, this time around (Im 37)it was around 4 weeks. As is didn't really know my cycle my GP advised to 'do it' every second day and it seemed to work for us although DH felt he was performing under pressure towards the end! Good luck
It took me 9 months (and no medical intervention) at 40 but the pg ended in an early m/c. Compare this to when I was in my late 20's when it took 3 years to get there (just after stopping clomid). Although we were trying from when I turned 40 (I have a new partner) I was not temping or anything and it just happened. I'm hoping to catch the egg again soon and if not it will be on to IVF for us.

Do you think buying Maybe Baby is helpful? My cycles range from 24 to 27 days.

I didn't find the Maybe Baby that helpful...found the charting more accurate...but I'm sure there are some people who have had success with it!
