A couple of questions... not sure if they are answerable

Hi :)

Just wondering about my spinning baby. Bub was head down for a good part of 4 weeks. But for the last week has been doing flips and turns and generally worrying me esp considering I am now 33weeks, my last 2 pregnancies bub has been head down and stayed from <30weeks.

What are reasons babies may not stay in the one possy so late in pregnancy (apart from lack of other things to do ;) )?

Also I noticed last night that my round ligaments have ceased to give me grief (I hope IO am not speaking too soon!). Usually when I roll over in bed it can be excruciating! But now there is only a but of discomfort in my hips. With all of my pregnancies my round ligaments have given me hell and even for many weeks after I had Violet I was in great pain when getting up from laying down.

Any ideas as to why all of a sudden they would stop hurting?

Hmmm, I have no idea, but those major flip flops made me vomit!

I hope bubs stays head down!!!

Oh I don't know Tanya, maybe everything is a little stretched from the other bubs and it is a bit easier for bubs to get around.

I would say maybe as s/he flips around it is taking pressure off your hips possibly? Or maybe you are just getting lucky this time! lol I hope so for you!

Yeah in 2nd and later pregnancies bubs often has more room which means settling head down and getting engaged can even happen in early labour!

My MIL's 2nd son was transverse for weeks and weeks. They did an external version at 35wks and got him head down and on the way home from the appointment he turned transverse again. MIL cried for a week solid, went into labour and he turned head-down and was born with 2 pushes (nearly 9lbs of him!).

I don't know much about round ligaments, mine hurt an awful lot when i turned over until i was about 32 weeks, then they stopped, i think because bubs weight was more on the bones than the tissues by then, the tissues by that point being as stretched as they got! LOL. She sort of filled the space, so she was touching both sides all the time and me turning over didn't shift her enough to make anything stretch, if that makes sense.

I would reckon that no-pain is less of a worry than pain though. :)

I would say it is because there is more room in there after the other bubs. I would think that is the same reason for the lack of ligament pain too. ie: They just don't have to strectch as much therefore aren't hurting you as much. Now I think about it, I don't think I have as much trouble rolling over in bed this time either (not that it's easy :rolleyes:)

Tanya, as the other women have said it can be a space issue. Your little one has more room thanks to her siblings! My fourth baby was like yours too. I had acupuncture, moxo, played the radio down near my hoo haa!!! And did lots of affirmations. She did turn in the end and stayed that way.
We really don't know why some babies like to be breach. Sometimes there is no reason to be found. Sometimes it's the position of the placenta, the length of the cord, mostly it's just 'cos! I hope she turns for you. Keep telling her that you would like her head down if that is a safe way for her to be born. Talking to our babies is important. And it does work!

As for the ligament pain. It could be her position that has eased it. That would be my guess. It's a shocker isn't it? So very painful... I am glad it has eased for you... :hug:

I think she is head down atm... fingers crossed that she stays that way!

As for the ligament pain, I am really not complaining :D
