Siblings
I was watching Jack this morning, put his arm around Thomas and say "I love you". It made me think of how Jack seems to have instantly fallen in love with Tom from the first time they met (an hour after the birth). I think it still surprises me as I was expecting jealousy at first. You expect that you will love your baby from the minute it's born (if not before!!) but you don't (well I didn't) realise that the instinct is there for siblings too. Is it a natural instinct that he know it's his blood relative, or is it that even at 19 months he understood when we kept telling him that he was going to have a new brother or sister he would love and have to help look after? Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep it's beautiful. I've never had any animosity between any of my boys even though there is jealousy sometimes.
I also love how it goes the other way.
Sometimes I just can't settle Caleb and if I put him on the floor with his brothers he is all smiles. He also looks for them first thing in the morning :D

That's so beautiful :D
I have almost 14 years between my two and even though I've never heard Joshua tell Oskar he loves him I know he does cos I'll be changing him or something and Joshua comes in so that he can take him for cuddles on the lounge.

Totally! :)
Watching the bond between my two babies grow has been the most wonderful thing about having two.
Emily was soooo excited for him to be born and we haven't had any jealousy issues at all really, right from the beginning.
I love how his face lights up when she talks to him and plays with him, he thinks the world of her. And she is so protective and motherly towards him and loves to include him in her dolly teaparties lol (where he trashes the whole party and they end up having a brawl....but hey it's still cute!) :)

I used to get so sick of people saying "oh, is DD#1 jealous?" when DD#2 was born..........how could a 29 month old be jealous? I just didnt understand that question. She was so accepting of her new sister......if you show both children equal amounts of attention, i dont see how one can be jealous of the other.
First thing DD#2 says when i get her out of the cot in the morning.....'mimmy, mimmy'- nickname for DD#1.....and then its a big sloppy kiss and a 'morning' hug....
I think the jealousy comes when they're in there teens.....IMO......thats when me and my sisters hit sky high !!!!LOL.
