Lots of Cysts on Ovaries
Hi there,
Im not sure if I've posted this in the right section or not but I have had many problems since my daughter was born period wise. Lots of bleeding & painful cramping, so finally went and had an ultrasound done, what they found was "greater than 12 folicles per ovary measuring up to 0.7cm. The right ovary has a volume of 10.67cc and the left 6.04cc")
All in all I didnt get much information about what was wrong, just told it was cysts & the pain is from the cysts bursting, and its possible this could cause fertility issues down the track and could lead to some sort of ovary syndrome (I cant remember the name he said but if I suddenly get really hairy & put on weight thats a symptom)
Has anyone else gone through this?

Hi Mia'sMummy,
Sounds like your dr is talking about polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). I have it too, with lots of cysts on my right ovary but none on my left due to an unrelated dermoid in my left ovary. "Hairiness" or hirsuitism is a symptom of PCOS as is weight gain. Acne, hair loss, infrequent or no periods, irregular or anovulation are also symptoms. You don't need to have all of them though to have PCOS. I don't have a weight problem for example.
Hope this helps.
