i think it depends on where you work and what your individual agreement is. every work place is, unfortunately, different.
with my workplace, we get 12 weeks of paid mat leave, and up to 52 weeks unpaid - the first 12 weeks counts as service and, as such, we accrue leave
you'll need to check in your own work place hun - good luck in finding out!
Mine is the same as Briggsy's work place except ours is 13wks paid leave & we accrue annual leave, I am also using up another 8ish wks of saved annual leave & so that also accrues leave!!!
But each place is different!!!
Depends on your award, I accrued leave while on Maternity leave. QLD Health.
I am entitled to 14 weeks maternity leave and will also accrue holiday pay while i am on mat leave.
Nope, I didn't as I didn't qualify for paid maternity leave (had to have been there 2 years, I missed out by a few months).
yep - I still accue all entitlements when I am on maternity leave (catholic teaching sector!)
I accrue all leave types while I am on mat leave
I accrue all types of leave while I am on paid maternity leave but not on the unpaid portion. I think I also have to keep making super contributions while I am on unpaid leave so that I'm still covered for the deathe and disability insurance that it (super policy) includes.
Nope - I did not accumulate any further leave entitlements while on unpaid leave.
I think that it is pretty much standard that if you are on paid leave you earn your entitlements but on unpaid you don't.
Also, if for instance you take more weeks at half pay (assuming you get any paid) then you accrue you entitlements at the same rate ie half etc
Same here. First 12 weeks paid and I accrue leave. Also accrue while on annual leave/LSL but not when on unpaid leave
( I work in state government)
