I am wondering when one's belly button 'pops' out? I have read that it happens before the sixth month, but am wondering what others have experienced. Also, does it pop out overnight or is it a gradual process that you don't really notice? Many thanks!
Hi! My belly button popped out at around 4-5 months with my first pregnancy, and actually it never realy regained it's natural state!! This time around it was protruding from about 3 months, and now it's just like a huge door bell (that's what DS thinks it is - a door bell to the baby:lol:). It's not like it suddenly "pops", but it happened quite quickly over a couple of days i think.
Mine didn't actually pop out it just went flat & that was going to 41 weeks too.
mine popped out at around 27/28 weeks, and went further and further out.. and now.. everything on my body has recovered(6 months later) except my belly button... its stretched and saggy.. but oh so cute. i love it.. reminds me of when i was pregnant...
I think that it just depends - everyone's different.
Mine's still flat at 36.5 weeks.
Mine's flat too...and I'm 37 weeks tomorrow...

I got to 41+6 and mine was just fairly flat. The top bit stuck out a little but I could push it flat and the bottom bit stayed in.
Mine never really popped out either. It went flat. When I lay on my back I could push out my tummy & make it stick out though LOL. This time it is still not quite flat.
Tracey - PMSL at 3.5 hours! You really know your dates don't you! So why in pain? Not prelabour is it? :D
I put my shoulder/neck out & it's hurting... Not enough pre labour/labour pains for my liking!!! LOL
Oh :( Hope it goes soon....and that you get some of the pain you want soon too!
i have always had a really deep innie. It has come out somewhat since then but still no sign of having an outie yet!!
my belly button popped out at bout 30 weeks with my first pg but this one it just started to pop out the past couple of weeks (probly bout 16 wks)and i have just discovered that i have a hernia behind it!!!apparantly its nothing to worry about though thank goddness.........
Mine never popped out, thanks to a nice extra layer of fat over my belly. However it does look the happiest it ever has being nice and tight!
Mine's still an Innie too. I'm 26 weeks :o now and it's just sort of spreading out a bit & more shallow than before..
A big thankyou for all your responses. They cleared up my misconception that all Buttons popped out and by a certain week! I will stop waiting for it to happen now and relax!
