Co sleeping??

I am curious as to how many sleep with their bubbas. When dd2 came along ( babe no 3) we tried the cot but she was feeding so frequently, she just ended up staying in the bed with us at night. I could just flop out the boob and go back to sleep!:lol:

The thing is, she is now 3, and still with us...in our bed :doh:

But how is this for a weird family set up.....when we realised she would be spending a lot of time in our bed, we upgraded from a queen to a king size bed, and our queen size bed went in to dd1. Now dh snores like a bloody rhino, so most nights i end up sleeping with my 6 year old dd to escape the noise...while dh and little 3 year old spread out in the king size bed...she doesnt hear his snoring.....god knows how!!!!

Maybe its meant to be this way for now....until dh gets his nose fixed LOL

Hi... I have a friend who suffers from sleep apnoea and he snores REALLY loudly. So loud, in fact, his wife wears ear plugs. Anyway, when he's away for work reasons, his kids can't sleep at all because they miss the rhythmic snoring sounds... I guess it's reassuring for them as it's all they've ever known.

That doesn't help you, of course... just thought I'd share :)

We have a 3yr old, 8mth old and us two in our queen sized bed most nights. Jovie starts in her cot & comes in early in the morning but our 3yr old makes her way in around midnight. DH snores loudly & always wakes up the 8mth old!! We are actually thinking of moving her to the girls room so she can sleep better. I don't want to have her in a different room and far away, but it may be the only way she can sleep.

i have my 15 mnth old with us everynight it was easier when she was little but now its becoming a pain in the bum i just cant sleep with her anymore.shes kicking and moving all night its horrible but silly me put her in bed with me .it was just easier when she was little just to snuggle up with her in the middle of the night and we would both get some sleep .if i would have know back there what she would be like now i would never had done it

when she wont settle DD of 4 months is brought into bed but i find that we both get a better sleep separately, but i really enjoy the cuddles.... DP is kicked out onto a mattress on the floor of our spare room, hahaha. i still think i sleep better with bubs as then i don't have to contend with the snoring!!

Hi we co slept with DS and now with DD so even though DS is now in his own bed we generally wake up with our 4yr old (comes in around 3-5am) our 4mth old and DH and I. I would LOVE a king size! I am thinking of putting the 2 kids in together when DD is a little older

lol I used to be like this. If I could hear Dad snoring I would feel safe coz I knew they weren't far away.

We co-slept with our firstborn for about 8 months. It seemed easier as he was a demand-feeding breastfeeder; liked frequent short feeds and sometimes even latched on himself while I was asleep. Also he had a breathing scare in his first couple of weeks of life and I wanted to watch him closely all the time so that got me in the habit of having him sleep in our bed too.

I went into a mother/baby unit for PND when my son was 8 months old and the nurses retrained him to sleep in his own room. I didn't realise how nice it was to re-claim the bed for just hubby and I and get a good night's sleep. I'm not against co-sleeping and see the benefits - we were all happy with it at the time - but if baby will happily sleep all night in their own room, then great!

My second-born spent 3 months in hospital and was used to her own environment so it just seemed the natural progression when she came home to go into her own crib and room.

Not sure what will happen with my third born as I imagine they will be a demand-breastfeeder and I think its easier in the first 3 months to have bub in bed with me.
