Engagement???

Does anyone know how soon you are likley to go into labour after your bub has engaged if your a first time mum? How early can a baby engage?

My DD engaged at 28 weeks and i went a week over with her so it really isn't any indictation as to when you'll go into labour. Baby will come when s/he is ready :)

and apparently some babies don't engage until the very last minute....

DD engaged around 33 weeks.. and she was born at 39w4d

As the other girls have said... bubs can engage at anytime really. It isn't a sign that bubs will be coming soon. Not long for you now though!

Em engaged at around 32 weeks, and this bub has been engaged for weeks now too. I asked my OB the same, if it means I'm more likely to have bub early. She had a chuckle & said 'no'. *sigh*

yeah my OB said the baby may engage and then move backwards again... so no indication unfortunately....
