What do you think?

Ive been having braxton hicks for months now and a weeek and a half ago they turned nasty and was joined by period pain. My midwife on Friday says they are "irregular contractions". Baby had been slow at making movements for a few weeks prior but this week has been going crazy! A few weeks ago, dh and I decided to try dtd, but ended up being too painful (felt like razor blades in there - sorry tmi), was treated for thrush, even though it ended up not being that. The midwife on Friday suggested we try dtd again to see if it was still painful. It was, but NOWHERE near it was last time and i was able to enjoy myself. :redface: However, this morning (after being up a few times last night to pee and nothing else - again tmi) i wiped and found a big glob of thick cm with blood in it. I got excited, dh panicked. I wiped again and found a big streak of it blood tinged. Could this be my mucous plug and how long do you think is left before my bub arrives?

Yep, this is your mucous plug, or atleast the start of it.

Labour may be just around the corner or still a few days or weeks off hun. Sorry to say.

Enjoy what's left of your pregnancy. Either way it's not too far off ending. Oh and keep up DTD if you can.

Sure sounds just like your MP. Just keep in mind that some women can bleed a bit after sex too. But from how you described it, it does sound like your MP. Phone your midwife if you are are'nt too sure.

Looks like labour might not to too far away for you too!!! Good luck honey.

It definitely sounds like it :)

On the good side it means something is happening with your cervix, but on the down side it really means nothing much in terms of how much longer - it could be days, or could be weeks as trish said. Hope things start happening for you soon ;)

It sounds like your plug to me but there is no way of knowing when you will go into labour

Ooh! Sounds like your plug! How exciting. No real way to know how long, but at least you know that things are starting to happen! :)
