annouce b4 12 week scan

just wondering if u all announced your pregnancy to friends/fmaily b4 the 12 week scan

We told our close family and friends pretty much straight away, then waited until we were around 10 weeks before telling everyone else (couldn't wait any longer!).

Hi, I told my family when we found out - had to tell my sister as we went to the pub together every Friday night for drinks...she would have figured it out right away. We waited as long as we could but ended up telling everyone else at around 9wks. Living in a small country town there is only so long you can hide something like that.

We told our parents pretty much straight away. DH told pretty much everyone he knew withinga few weeks. I didnt tell anyone till around 12-13 weeks. I told my boss at 13 weeks and then the rest of my colleagues around 18 weeks.

We told close family and friends as soon as we knew with both pgs. We figured they were the people we would be turning to for support if anything went wrong anyway....

yeh i tell eveyone as i cant keep my mouth closed i just get to excited

Have only told two close friends (they are husband and wife). I'm finding the longer we wait the easier it is not to tell. Havent told any parents because my mum would freak out if anything happend and probably make the situation worse. Not on purpose, she just doesn't cope very well in stressful situations. And we cant tell DH's family and not mine, so no family gets told until after 12 weeks (If we can help it!!).

Anybody else not told? Any tricks on how to keep it quiet? Especially if someone just comes right out and asks you if you are pregnant?

Told everyone the day we found out we're preg! Just too excited to wait....but finding out and telling everyone so early on makes the pregnancy seem like it takes forever!

We told everyone around the 10-12 week mark....after the scan (8 wks) where we actually saw a heartbeat pumping away....

We told everyone at 6 weeks when I got my blood results back and then had to ring everyone back 2 weeks later to tell them we were having twins.

We were too excited not to tell anyone and I know most people wait until the 12 week mark in case of misscarriage but I gathered if that did happen we would have told them anyway that we had so why not celebrate it anyway...

i'm a newbie here, i found out on Tuesday that I am 4 weeks pregnant, and I'm so excited! I have found it really hard not to tell people this early on and my thoughts are those that i tell now are those I would tell if something did go wrong.

we waited til i was 20 weeks preggers til we told our families or anyone, mainly cause we live in Townsville and they are in Cairns and Sydney - however when we told them it was a lovely Christmas present :)

Yeah, We didn't tell our close family until we were 12 weeks. Then we told close friends when we were 16 weeks.
