Early induction
Due to hospital policy for insulin dependent gestational diabetes mums, I have been told that I will be induced at 38 weeks.
Since some babies don't become fully engaged until after this time, I was wondering if induction will work if bubs isn't fully engaged or if the induction will get him/her into position? Do they attempt induction if bubs isn't sitting right?

As far as I know, induction wont help get bubs into position, as bubs gets ready when bubs is ready LOL, but they will probbly only start off with Gels and gently ease you into it. It doesn't matter so much if bubs isn't engaged - labour can still progress nicely, but it is important to make sure they are in the right position beforehand as it makes the process so much easier on both you and bubs.
Not sure if they would attempt it if bubs wasn't in the best position, but cnsidering they wont let you go over 38wks then fair chance they would go ahead with the induction anyway. Do you know what position bubs is in now? It should be written on your yellow card. Go and check out www.spinningbabies.com for exercises that will help bubs get in the best position.
Good luck Art! make sure you keep us Sept girls posted OK?
