A brief account of Lachlan Ambrose's arrival
Well, after talks of induction, a day of high BP and some really bad back pain, my gorgeous little boy has finally arrived.

I went into labour spontaneously on thurs 26th with irregular but painful contractions. I had spent the weds night at hospital for monitoring after my first high BP reading that day. Thurs was sent home as BP was perfect and they decided not to induce. Best decision they ever made!!
after 1 hour total of sleep on thurs night, which was in many many segments in between contractions, I headed to the hospital on Friday at midday with contractions 3 mintues apart. I was looked at and found to be only 3cms dialated and 50% effaced. I decided it was best for me to continue labouring at home where I was more comfortable (ish).
By 8pm, the contractions were around 2 mins apart and unbeleiveably painful. I think I had a really full on back labour. I spent the next hour and a half in the bath, where the pain was intolerable. at 10pm we rang the hospital, and were there by 11pm.
I was again looked at, where I was found to be 8cms dialated and ready to go anytime! Couldnt beleive it! too late for drugs!!!
So after sucking on the gas for a good half hour, I was transferred to a labour room.
Felt like pushing after a little while and had my membranes ruptured at 1:20am.
gave birth on my knees on the bed at 2:43 am. 2nd degree tear to perenium and 1st degree tear near my urethera, but otherwise, a perfect birth. Bubs was born in one big push, after a lot of little pushes. Once his head crowned, he pretty much just fell on out! It was amazing.
My placenta was then delivered just 7 mins later.
Got the immediate skin to skin contact that I was dying for and breast fed my bub in the first half hour.
Took an hour and a half to get stiched up.... but I still had my trusty gas for when I had my local injections. That stuff is good!!!
So, we're home now and going fantastically well.
Little Lach was within 100grams of his birth weight as of yesterday when we left the hospital. Looks like my boobies are doing what they are meant to! lol
I am absolutely loving being a mummy! And I also absolutely love the fact that even after my size conciencious OBS had told me that I had an 80% chance of a c sect, that my body did its own thing and had the most beautiful natural birth ever! Can't wait to let him know that even though I'm a big chicken, I can bake a good baby!
Anys, thats the main gist of my last week. There are a few minor details left out, but I figure if u have made it this far, you need a break.
Thanks to everyone for their support over the past few months. I look forward to sharing my little boys journey with you all!
