When do you know bubs is ready for some play time and the routine of feed, play, sleep? I thought it was at about 3 wks but Georgie is having awake time after feeds at the moment, she's not unsettled just awake. She is only 13 days old.

My boys seemed to do it from the word go! Especially Dylan - he fed in like 30min so he was up for another 30min just looking out at the world! LOL!
When my 3 were that little, playtime was mostly a lot of cuddly chit chat.
Or a bath and a kick around in the nude.
Or songs......I used to prop my newborns on my lap and sing all manner of daft songs
Or a massage......this seems to tire them out for some reason?
It is such a special time......enjoy!
I didn't know what to do for "play" time with my newborn either - I thought it had to be some whizz bang affair! Some great things are rattles (home made with an empty container and lentils or pasta) or store bought, singing to bubs, massage, dancing with bubs in your arms, talking to your bub in a different language (such as Je'taime is I love you in French), bath time if she enjoys it, moving her arms and legs about, and lots of kisses and cuddles.
Seriously, she'l be so engrossed just looking at you at this stage that "play" doesn't necessarily have to "be" anything. Just chatting to her will stimulate her lol your hairline is exciting to her at that age!!
LOL - surely Je'taime bien?
When DD was little i used to show her things during awake time like the houseplants or what was happening out of the window, or i sang to her softly, or chatted or read her a short story. Oftentimes we just got lost gazing at each other for half an hour and then it was sleepytime again. Awwww.... I miss that time!
