Uterus Question??
Hiya Ladies,
I am just over 16 weeks pregnant and was just wondering if it is normal to have aching in the middle of my lower abdomen? It is not constant, only starts to happen mainly when I am doing housework or at work and standing up for too long. I had a check up a week and a half ago and the OB measured my fundal height and they said it was perfect. I can actually feel it myself and it is around 3cm from my belly button at the moment. I was also wondering if it is normal for it to be hard? I am just so clueless as this is my first. I am yet to feel any movement (That I know of!! I could be but put it down to gas LOL!!) so still get worried about every little thing. Can someone please give me some help?
Thanks so much,
xxx Nita

hi there - firstly congrats on your pregnancy.
yes it is normal to feel your fundus and it will be firm to touch. it will be especially easy to feel if laying flat on your back.
The aching can be ligament pain (although mine was more of a pulling sensation) or everything just adjusting to the beautiful baby growing inside. remember your uterus used to be the size of ur fist.... now it is filled with baby, cord, fluid and placenta.... it will all has to fit in somewhere!
Perhaps relax a little or set one house chore each day rather than doing a full days work. See if this makes a difference.
It is normal to stress over every little thing. my stresses was that i didnt feel movement until 22 weeks and didnt really show until 27 weeks (that people noticed anyhow.. i noticed my bump around 20 weeks)... so i was worried about if any thing was happening in there! lol
As long as you dont have bleeding with heavy cramping everything should be fine.
When ever i had little pains i just told myself it was dd renovating and would talk to her in my belly asking her what she was up to next? ie extra bedroom etc lol
hth, and if ever concerned your dr should be there to reassure you about anything... no matter how silly it seems to you!!!
hugs
