call the hospital and ask what to do.
Are you having any contractions?
oh... CONGRATULATIONS..... you're going to be a mummy very very soon.
Mysti - how exciting. Call your hospital and they will tell you what to do.
That's great:dance:! Your labour is starting! I would contact your hospital or MW and let them know, and then sit back, relax and wait for the surges to start. I read that there's no harm if nothing happens for 24 hours... so if i were you, I'd just relax and rest as much as you can. How exciting! Good luck!!
ooohhhoooo best wishes for the next few days!
Call your hospital/birthing centre!
Ohhh...Mysti...how exciting!
My hospital recommends to ring when your water breaks and they will advise from there.
Wishing you all the very best!
very exciting! Ring your hospital, they might want you to go in for them to check that everything is ok. And keep active. That will bring on labour if it hasn't already started.
Yay! How exciting!
Ring your hospital/birthing centre for advice, and relax. You'll have your bubba very soon!
Hey Mysti
put a pad on...the midwives will want to know if the baby is moving and what colour the water is (it should be clear, or slightly pink stained)
you will contiue to leak amniotic fluid until your baby is born...so have lots of fresh knickers on hand ;)
dont worry if things dont start up straight away...sometimes contractions abe delayed for 12-24hrs after your waters break.
good luck :D
xx yogababy
omigosh! I am shaking, i am that nervous! Thank you all for your best wishes and advice. I rang the maternity ward just before, and she said to put on a pad and wait to see if i leak anymore. I have to ring them back in a couple of hours. I am not having contractions though? Will they start up now??
Ohhh...Mysti......how exciting!
Like Jodi said, my suggestion would be to keep active......hopefullt that'll start up some nicely paced contractions for you.
This is such a special time. Enjoy. Keep in touch with the hosp (I think they like to know what is going on once waters have broken....premature rupture of membranes and all that)....but the longer you can stay at home the better I reckon (just my experience!)
Do you feel up for a walk?
GOOD LUCK!! xx
(PS Your little man will most liekly come on his due date: how clever is he!)
Hey lovely
be as relaxed as you can...things will start when they are ready
contractions can start within 2 hrs or 24hrs
:D
My waters broke and contractions started about one and a half hours later, but I was overdue dont know if that makes a difference. Sit back relax try and get some sleep if you can, you baby will be here before you know it.
YAY Mysti!!!
Good luck to you. This si such an exciting time for you. Hope bub comes before too long.
Take care
How exciting!!! Something that Trish said to someone earlier which was a fantastic suggestion is to use a newborn disposable nappy. That will hold heaps more fluid than a maternity pad.
The other thing is relax but also try to keep your positioning right because gravity will be pulling bubs down so keep leaning forward and try walking etc. Have a look at the optimum positioning website (there's a link here on bellybelly)
I haven't leaked any more fluid yet? Is that normal?
Mysti, when my waters broke with Olivia, it was just a small amount, and then I had no more leaking at all. (My waters broke at 9am, contractions started around 1pm, went to hosp about 3pm, she was born at 11pm)
With Charlie and Lexie, there was a LOT more water, full on regular contractions came on straight away, so I leaked with each contraction.
So I guess all babies are different?
Thankyou Lucy. That put my mind at ease. I guess i just sit back and wait for some contractions!??
